Privacy policy

Summary

Brouser is designed to keep your data on your computer. We do not run accounts, analytics or telemetry in the browser.

The browser

Browsing history, profiles, speed dial, libraries and DIRECT X device data are stored locally in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Brouser and are not sent to us. Telemetry is disabled.

Updates

To check for updates, the launcher downloads a release manifest (latest.json) and update packages from directx.click. These requests reveal your IP address to the hosting provider, as any download does. No identifier is attached.

VPN

The VPN is optional and off by default. When enabled, your browser traffic goes to the WireGuard server in your configuration. Its operator can see the connection metadata.

DIRECT X Nearby

Bluetooth messages go directly between your devices, encrypted. They do not pass through our servers.

This website

brouser.io is a static site without cookies, analytics or trackers. The download page fetches the current version number from directx.click. Our hosting provider (Vercel) may keep standard server logs.
